I am thrilled to introduce you to a remarkable individual who embodies the spirit of adventure, leadership, and service, all exemplifying the “younger than that now” theme of our current campaign. With a nod to the iconic Top Gun theme song, allow me to present Mike High, Chairman of our Annual Fall Campaign and member of the Vanguard Leadership Team.
Imagine, if you will, the exhilarating sensation of the sun on your face and the rush of wind as you speed through the air on a super-bike, while simultaneously engaging in a high-speed chase with a jet. Such a thrilling experience captures the essence of the adrenaline, passion, precision, and sheer determination required to pilot the highly maneuverable F-16 Fighting Falcon in air-to-air combat and air-to-surface attacks. Mike High, a former instructor pilot for that airplane, is intimately familiar with this mix of emotions and skills.
Mike’s unwavering dedication to the mission of the United States Air Force, which is to fly, fight, and win, permeates every aspect of his life. He carries this sense of purpose into the ministry at the Catch, where he actively works to introduce grace turned outward to all those he encounters. Moreover, he seamlessly integrates his values into his role as a leader within Aim High Properties, his private equity company.
As the founder of Aim High Properties, Mike and his team provide safety, security, and long-term cash flow for the investors they serve. Simultaneously, they strive to execute their mission of making the American Dream of homeownership a reality for hundreds of families. Additionally, they offer transitional housing opportunities to those seeking second chances in life, regardless of the reasons behind their need. One of those people who has received a second chance in life is a close family member of Mike’s who speaks of the positive role the Catch Ministry has played in his rehabilitation.
Mike High exemplifies the qualities of a true leader — courage, determination, and an unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of others. All of this while facing the challenges of Parkinson’s Disease. And did I mention he hiked to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro with his daughter earlier this year? Sounds to me like someone who, though he might have been older then, is “younger than that now.”

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of – wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there,
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air….
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace.
Where never lark, or even eagle flew —
And, while with silent, lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
– Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.”
