911 Trumpet

R

So the work on the wall began. They all worked by tribe and by families. But as soon as they began in earnest, Sanballat, Tobiah and Geshem, neighboring enemies, began mocking them.

“What does this bunch of poor, feeble Jews think they’re doing? Said Sanballat. Do they think they can build the wall in a single day by just offering a few sacrifices? Do they actually think they can make something of stones from a rubbish heap — and charred ones at that?” (Nehemiah 4:2) And Tobiah the Ammonite added his 2 cents, “That stone wall would collapse if even a fox walked along the top of it!” (4:3)

Little did he know that in a few weeks (just 52 days to be exact), a whole choir would be walking on top of that wall, four stories high, singing praises to the God of Israel.

Their intent, of course, was to intimidate the people and get them to stop building. Some of the Israelites living near these enemies heard about these mocks and spread such a negative pall over the camp that Nehemiah had to fight their lies with truth and promises of God’s presence with them. However, as they experienced progress, the pressure got worse. The enemies’ mocks turned into threats. They tried to scare them by spreading rumors that they would attack from all corners at once, forcing the workers to take turns standing guard and working on the wall. And even when they worked, every man had a sword strapped to his side. They had to be ready for  anything. Give them credit for their tenacity.

“The work is very spread out,” said Nehemiah,”and we are widely separated from each other along the wall. When you hear the blast of the trumpet, rush to wherever it is sounding. Then our God will fight for us!” (4:19-20) What a beautiful statement of new covenant truth in the Old Testament — proof that the new covenant has always been in effect. Call it the 911 Trumpet. Nehemiah is telling them to get to the place where the trumpet is sounding, but once you get there, the Lord will fight for you. Now that doesn’t mean show up and do nothing. It means show up, with sword drawn, and start fighting, but as you do, the Lord will fight for you. You will not be facing the enemy alone.

Calling all Catch citizens. How long have you been benefiting from the prophesies, stories and teachings published here? How much of your faith has been shaped by the ministry of the Catch in the last twelve years? How many times have you felt the call and not answered? Maybe that’s because we didn’t make the call clear or tell you what to do. Nevertheless, it’s time now. The trumpet already sounded. The 911 call went out. The Lord will show up when and where you heard the trumpet blast. The world is in obvious distress, and we have been given the clear answer in the form of the gospel of welcome, and grace turned outward. The gospel is the good news that Jesus saves, and all are welcome, and grace turned outward is the kindness and the love that we act out to everyone we meet.

To be a part of this we ask you to opt into our Catch family. You need this. You need an army around you. And when you hear the trumpet and show up, the Lord shows up with you. Turning grace outward to everyone everywhere is going to take a lot of people. This is a big job. Come on board by becoming a MemberPartner today. Don’t wait another minute.

Question: There’s a trumpet sounding somewhere near you today. Where is it? What will you do when you get there?

I cannot imagine one day without the Catch family. We all need this in our lives. Satan is something else and we need God thru his Son Jesus to have our backs. Catch has been very supportive about my mental health struggles, when my spirit and faith need a push. Also, my brother Shane is in the hospital in Mayfield Kentucky fighting pneumonia and hopefully he will get better. He is no longer alone in his house and has the care of folks around him. Whatever happens God is with him and nothing like the Catch family to provide spiritual support. Take care, God Bless, and keep the faith.

This is a large request because of the folks involved but, God works miracles thru his Son Jesus. I am asking the Catch family to pray and I hope many folks will pray. I have mentioned my brother Shane at times but, I would like the Catch family to pray for his daughters and previous wife. Shane’s daughters have nothing to do with him at all. Their names are Tori, Tara, and Tate. So much anger between them and their father. Pray for his previous wife Rhonda. Now is the time to heal and God can make that possible for their hearts to heal if they all let him in. I cannot say enough for the great support over the years and I know you will always be with us. Take care, God Bless, and praise God.

    Dear Mr Fischer

I sent a card to the Catch and I hope you all see this. Has my return address on the outside. My Brother Shane is in critical care in a hospital in Mayfield Kentucky. I have been praying. I thank God he is not in his house alone anymore and is with folks . I thank you all again for your support. Last two months I have been praying hard and talking to friends back in Western Kentucky and like I said I am so glad the Lord got to him to finally get him in a place where he is not alone. So true sometimes we all have big challenges like Nehemiah even though may not appear like so much. Take care, God Bless, and celebrate the wonders of our Lord and Savior.
