A 30-Day Prophetic Experience
Listen! [Eyes Wide Open] It’s the voice of someone shouting, “Clear the way through the wilderness for the Lord! Make a straight highway through the wasteland for our God!” Isaiah 40:3
This was the prophetic statement of the prophet Isaiah about the coming Messiah. The voice was to be John the Baptist, and the wilderness and the wasteland is the way by which our Lord Jesus Christ was to come into the world. Jesus comes right through the emptiness and barrenness of our lives. Jesus didn’t drop out of heaven. He didn’t magically appear out of thin air. He didn’t ride in on a white horse. He was born into our world and we are asked to prepare a way for Him. He comes to us through the chaos and the parched ground of our human weakness.
Lost in a wilderness, we wander without direction. There are no trails in a wilderness — no signs, no markings. You can wander round and round and return to where you started and not even know it. The children of Israel could have gotten through the wilderness to the promised land on the other side of the Red Sea in eleven days if they knew the way, but instead they wandered for 40 years and went nowhere. That’s what happens when we are trapped in the wilderness of our own way. st as useless. There is no value when you are trapped in a wasteland. No meaning; no purpose. In a wasteland, you forget who you are and why you are here. You feel like your life is as wasted as the wasteland around you.
But to those in the wilderness, the prophet says, “Clear the way,” and suddenly there is hope, not because we now know the way, but because He is here, and He does. He is not lost. He is not wandering. We cleared the way for the Lord and now that He is here, we follow Him. We may still be in the wilderness but we are not alone, and He is our guide through the wilderness.
And to those in the wasteland, the prophet says, “Make a straight highway through the wasteland for our God!” Clear out the clutter. Make a highway for our God. Not a low road. Not a small trail. Not a dirt road. A highway. A big highway — big enough for God to move you and me and the Catch community of believers out into the world to make a huge difference, and big enough to pick up more and more new believers along the way.
This is it. Eyes wide open to see what we can do. Eyes wide open to be turning grace outward to the world. Believe. Make a highway for our God, and for you, and for me, and for them. What a highway!

Devotional:
We all have wilderness moments — dry, disordered, cluttered with noise. But God calls us to clear the way. Not just for ourselves, but for others. This may mean confessing sin, silencing distractions, or releasing fear. It’s spiritual decluttering — so the King can move freely in our lives. What’s blocking His path in you?
Prayer Prompt:
Clear my heart, Lord. Make room for Your voice.
Action Step:
Take one practical step to clear clutter in your life so you can hear God more clearly.
