This Campaign’s “Eyes Wide Open” journey was born out of that cry.

In an anxious and unstable world, we need to know:

• What is God doing now?
• Why does it matter?
• And what should God’s people do in response?

For 30 days, John has been walking us through prophecies, calling us to watch, listen, repent, risk, and act — not from fear, but with Eyes Wide Open.

And as we’ve walked together, it has become impossible to miss something astonishing:

YOU — this community — are part of a prophetic story God started long before 2025.

The Origin Story – The Founders With Eyes Wide Open

When the Catch Ministry first appeared on the horizon in September 2012, the original founder, Peter Herschend, recognized that congregations all over the world were going to outgrow current facilities, so he purchased acreage in cyberspace. Many wondered why he purchased property way out there. Well … no one is scratching their head today. 

God appointed Peter Herschend to be the builder of the Catch and its worldwide community — much like the king appointed Nehemiah:

“If it please the king… send me to Judah to rebuild the city.” (Nehemiah 2:5)

What the founder saw…
What Nehemiah lived…
What Peter stepped into… is now what you carry forward.

Nehemiah: The First Marketplace Christian

Nehemiah wasn’t a priest.
He wasn’t a prophet.
He wasn’t a permanent resident of Jerusalem.He was a Marketplace Christian — just like Peter and like so many of you.

He was a businessman with:

• a broken heart,
• a clear calling, and
• the courage to act when the moment came.

He prayed. Nothing shifted. He tried concealing his sorrow, but God was already there. Finally the king asked him, “Why are you so sad? How can I help you?”

And suddenly, everything Nehemiah had prayed, planned, and quietly prepared for… opened like a door on holy hinges.

Safe passage.
Timber.
Protection.
Authority.
Provision.

The king made the way — because God had already ordained the work.

This is the story of Peter.
This is the story of the Catch.
This is the story of you.

What We Built Together, and What We’re Building Next

Since those early days, something extraordinary has risen from that “digital land”:

• A daily community of over 12,000 with 2,274 engaged believers every day
• 600+ attending Church at The Catch every Sunday
• International Bible Studies
• Thousands of prayers answered
• Hundreds receiving pastoral counseling every month
• A cross-generational community from Boomers to Gen Z joined side by side
• A Gospel of Welcome that reaches both the mainstream church and the secular world.

This didn’t rise from marketing. It didn’t rise from algorithms. It rose because of you — a Citizen of the Catch community — who lived the Gospel of Welcome before it had a name.

And now, God is asking us to lift our eyes again.

What’s Coming in 2026

2026 is not just another year. It is an inflection point.

We are preparing to:

• expand discipleship training globally,
• launch new digital platforms for young adults who are starving for authenticity,
• release John’s long-awaited book, Ashes in the Wind and Saint Ben, both audiobooks by highly recognized voice actors as well as three new digital downloads of John’s albums and a new song series,
• build out The Marketplace Christian Network,
• create new mental health and faith support channels,
• and build on the sustainable foundation for growth, so the next decade of the Catch becomes its most fruitful yet.

But none of this happens without one final truth:

You Are the Why

Every soul reached…
Every prayer answered…
Every Sunday gathered…
Every disciple trained…
Every country impacted…
because you believed in this purpose and its vision.

You are the reason this ministry stands today. You are the reason we smile at the future. And you are the ones God is calling now to step forward with Eyes Wide Open.

This is not just a campaign.

This is the continuation of a prophetic story God began decades ago — through the founder Peter Herschend, through faith, through Nehemiah’s spirit — and now through you.
