More Than An Email — It’s a Lifeline

At The Catch, prayer and counseling are not separate departments.

They are one living, breathing ministry — a spiritual triage center where people find covering, care, and Christ-centered strength the moment they reach out.

This is where heaven and humanity meet.
This is where lives are held.
This is where the broken come — and leave changed.
Below we fill you in briefly on our Prayer and Counseling Ministries.

But first …

The Stranger Appears

Every now and then, something unexpected slips quietly into our ordinary routine. Something small, almost invisible… but if your eyes are open, you know it means more than it appears.

That happened today.

At the very back of the room, a man sat alone. No one saw him come in. No one recognized him. He didn’t sing. He didn’t move. He simply watched — not with suspicion, but with the calm focus of someone who sees more than most people notice.

When the gathering ended, he slipped out before anyone could speak to him. But he left a folded note on the pew.

Just one sentence:
“You are looking too closely. Step back.
And next to it, a single drawing — an open eye.

There was nothing threatening about it. But it felt… revealing. Like someone had held up a mirror to the way we’ve been thinking and gently invited us to widen our view.

Maybe this is how God works sometimes. Quietly. Unexpectedly. Through a stranger who doesn’t speak with words but with presence.

In our next email, we share the second clue — one that shows this stranger isn’t just watching. He’s listening.

With eyes open,
The Catch Ministry

(Prayer & Counseling cont.)

🔥 Prayer That Moves

When a request arrives, it ignites a chain reaction.
Our Prayer Warriors — called, not recruited — respond within minutes.
They pray with specificity, persistence, and faith until something shifts. They are joined by:

  • 300+ Prayer Partners
  • Over 500 people praying within a week
  • Miracles that are now part of our daily rhythm

This is not polite prayer.
This is spiritual first response — active, alive, and led by the Spirit.

And prayer doesn’t stop at prayer.
It flows straight into care, counsel, and restoration.

🌿 Counseling That Meets People Where They Are

More than 200 people a month come to The Catch for counseling — many with no other safe place to turn.

They bring real pain: depression, anxiety, trauma, faith crises, relationship collapse, fear, and the wounds of feeling unwelcome in traditional Christian groups.

Here, they find presence, compassion, and Christ-centered guidance.
No paywall. No judgment. Just a trustworthy place to breathe again.

❤️ Why This Matters

These ministries are the spiritual engine of The Catch.
People come because they can:

  • Speak honestly
  • Ask hard questions
  • Be fully themselves
  • Receive prayer that actually moves
  • Find Jesus in the middle of their deepest struggles

Here, no one is added to a list.
They are lifted, covered, and held.

More than an email.
More than a ministry.
This is a refuge — and a family shaped by grace turned outward.

PS:

The Eyes Wide Open Fall Campaign is in full motion, and these five daily clues are part of our shared journey. Our Chairman, Herb Hellums, is not asking the Citizens of the Catch Community to simply match his gift of $5,000 — he is challenging us to blow right past it.

Here is Herb’s message, in his own words:

“I know the official goal for this year’s Eyes Wide Open Fall Annual is $20,000. But is that really all we believe God for? Let’s be honest. $20,000 isn’t a ceiling — it’s a floor. It’s the beginning, not the end. When a ministry like The Catch is equipping leaders, counseling the brokenhearted, and reaching thousands every day, it is time to stop thinking small.

I’m not challenging you to meet a goal; I’m challenging you to go beyond it.

Give in a way that feels like a turning point. Give like someone who believes in the size of God’s Kingdom. If you’ve never given like this before — good. That means you’re walking by faith as you stretch your contribution. And if you have given before, let this be the year you say, ‘Not this time. I’m going higher.’”

Our Gift to You

Everyone who invests in this Eyes Wide Open Fall Annual Campaign will receive a gift. Not something random. Something aligned with this season. A soundtrack for the journey. You will receive the award-winning “Wide Angle” album by John Fischer.

The title track captures the essence of everything we’ve been doing. A move from fear to surprise. From routine to discovery. From a narrow view to a bigger world where truth and hope can breathe. It reminds us that when we open our eyes, even a little, God shows us more than we expected. More beauty. More honesty. More pain. More wonder.

  1. Since my youth, God, you have taught me,
and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.
Even when I am old and gray,
do not forsake me, my God,
till I declare your power to the next generation,
your mighty acts to all who are to come.

    ~ Psalm 71:17-18 (NIV)
