Love Him in the middle of the night

Love Him in the morning when you see the sun a-rising
Love Him in the evening ‘cause He took you through the day
And in the in-between-time when you feel the pressure coming
Remember that He loves you and He promises to stay

Today was a day I felt a lot of pressure. I didn’t just feel it coming; it came. It’s still here, actually, and I have not been able to shake it off to write a very good original Catch for you as a result. So I offer instead, this song turned inside out to include also the middle of the night. Thank goodness God never sleeps because I really need to now.

When you think you’ve got to worry
‘Cause it seems the thing to do
Remember He ain’t in a hurry
He’s always got time for you

So…
Love Him in the morning when you see the sun a-rising
Love Him in the evening ‘cause He took you through the day
And in the in-between-time when you feel the pressure coming
Remember that He loves you and He promises to stay

John, I am sitting here listening to your song as I write this and truly love it. I am sitting here praying for you. Dear Abba, I ask that you John rest today. Let sleep come to him and let the pressures lease from him today. We know, Abba that it’s an attack from Satan, so we also know that you have something planned for John. Father, we know John is your beloved son and does so much for your kindom. Satan might slow him down but he will not stop him. Abba, I also ask blessing for John and his family, surround him with your love and Holy Spirit right now and let him feel it. We ask this in your son’s precious name, Jesus Christ. Amen

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the music this week, online and thru my speakers. I pray for peace for you, mixed with just enough stirring from God to keep you on your toes and moving in His direction!

  3. It’s a comfort to know that our God never sleeps. And an inside-out song is just right for a follower in an Upside-Down Kingdom.

    Be well …

  4. This was my favorite song on the original album. It was so short, so unexpected, and so pretty. The gentle melody sounded almost like a lullaby, but the lyrics had a counterpoint that urged me to wake up and find ways to “redeem the time.” Not playing guitar and never having had the music, I’ve taught it to a lot of small groups over the years to use as an a capella worship song.

Off topic, my favorite song on another album was the one that goes, “‘Cause He’s in there prunin’…” That was so needed when I was going through a time of wilderness wandering when I felt like God had put me in a Catch-22 situation and I would never be able to reach my potential. Of course, the situation wasn’t a Catch-22. It was that “God puts you in a fix to fix you and if you get out of the fix before you get fixed He has to fix another fix to fix you.” I don’t know who said that, but that person was wise.

I was in high school youth group in the early ’70s when your music was totally popular. I remember singing “Love Him In the Morning” so many times! Complete with the arm motions of the sun rising and setting and going back straight up and shaking for the “in between time” – what glory days those were! Your music spoke to our hearts and God did amazing things in our hearts. Thank you for your gift of music to all of us!

I’ve been in Japan as a missionary since 1978 so have spent my whole adult life away from the US. May I make an honest observation? I’ve been surprised at your lack of any comment about the devastation that came upon Japan on March 11 and with which we are still living. Thousands and thousands of people are have died or are missing. Hearts are aching and praise the Lord, some hearts are open. We’re grateful for all the prayer focus from around the world on this needy country. Please encourage the Catch community to pray, to give, to act. Oh my! Never have I experienced anything like this, and we live 150 miles away from the center of the destruction. I’m clinging to Jesus my Solid Rock and trusting in the fact that God knows what He’s doing! We’ve had some scary days here and are scrambling right now to do all we can to be a help and a light to so many aching people. Please don’t forget Japan at this precious time!

Thanks for being vulnerable and authentic! I will be praying for you too. His grace is sufficient for you.

We are in some difficult days and it is so easy to allow the pressure to weigh us down. Thank you for the pause that you give us every day. I seem to remember an analogy that I heard concerning pressure. Coal, when under extreme pressure for long periods of time, can become a diamond.

I beg to differ — that was a GREAT Catch. Thanks. May God relieve the pressure for you.

Loved this song orignally and through the years. Thank you for reminding us again that He is always there for us —and for you. Be still and know that He is God in all our lives, even when we feel the pressure of “things” that want to overtake us. Lost a dear friend, yesterday to cancer but know she is rejoicing in the Lord today. Hearts grieve but tears wash out our hearts for joy to come in. Praying for you today.

Thank you for thjs song John the Holy Spirit has used it at different times of my life to encourage me, it was only after I saw ‘First Love’ that I remembered where it coame from. I almost cried listening to the kids sing with you as I listened to the mp3 the same reaction i had when I first heard it, you see I`m a male and the Lord has called me to ids & youth ministry and over the yueras I haven`t done major projects et al but just tried to be faithful to God.

Thank you for todays Catch you nailed it as usual

Oh, what a blessing to see the words of that song and hear the melody in my head! I’m so thankful that God knows we need reminders of the things that we already know. That’s why we have rainbows-to remind us that God will never destroy the earth again with water—and communion—to remind us of the sacrifice that Jesus made for us, and that we are part of His body and blood—and Sunday—a weekly reminder that HE ROSE FROM THE DEAD!
