Somebody wanted to know why Marti goes all out for her one-night-a-month responsibility to provide dinner for 60 women at Isaiah House. If I could answer that question, then I would know why my wife is the way she is. But what good would that do? So here I’ll try.
Because she realizes the value of each woman there and wants them treated with the proper respect due.
Because she has come alongside these women and seen herself in them.
Because she has a deep inner fear of being homeless and wants to treat the women of Isaiah House the way she would want to be treated were she in their shoes.
Because an injustice has been done and she wants to see it corrected.
Because she has made lots of new friends.
All that is required is a meal, so why has Marti turned it into dinner and a show? She doesn’t have to do this.
To which I would reply, “Oh yes she does.”

She is a blessing, not only to the women of Isaiah house, but to all of us. Thank you, Marti, for being candid, down-to-earth and a role-model to me.
Ditto & amen!
Marti does what she does because she has learned a very important biblical principle in her walk with her Lord. God is not interested in her trying to become perfect……He is interested in her faithfulness.
Marti is amazing and she is doing what Jesus would do. If I were Marti I’d do the same thing. I love to plan parties and give what I can. The Women at Isaiah house are just as deserving or more deserving of these dinners. When you brighten a corner for someone it could change their lives and it only takes a spark to make a fire. Go Marti! Light up our world!
Marti,
God has given you a beautiful gift and it is a joy to hear about your gifts. Thanks for teaching me so much! Love to you and yours!
I would echo Gerry and Mark’s comments and add:
This is not Marti! This is the power of Christ that has changed Marti’s life and because that change has caused her to open herself to be available, the Holy Spirit living in and through her is using the very fabric of her heart, mind and soul (the way she was designed by God) to bless other lives and draw them to Himself. This is a prime example of what we’ve been studying on Wednesday nights in our “Catch On” teleconference. And the the double blessing is evidenced in the contagious excitement we see in Marti’s life that has spread to include John and others working with them. WOW! What a privilege and what excitement in serving the God who made us, just the way He made us!

It’s also because Marti understands what lifting the veil means!
I’m sure the question did not come from one of the residents of Isaish House. Marty is a blessing and is obviously listening to God when He speaks to her. She fulfills more than a need for nourishment of the body. I’ve never met Marty and i love her!
maybe it’s this being worked out…… “By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another”. John 13:35
