There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. Ephesians 4:4-6
We are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord
We are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord
And we pray that our unity may one day be restored
– Father Peter Scholtes
One Spirit
One frequency
One comforter
One teacher
One confirmation
One movement
One unction
One friend
One certainty
One change agent
One empowerment
One tie that binds
One helper
One belonging
One sealer
One guarantee
One mighty rushing wind
One conviction
One life giver
One interceder
One inspiration
One translator
One breath of God
One source of worship
One filling
One power
One witness
One overseer
One anointing
One Spirit of truth
One well of water springing up
One giver of gifts
One perfecter of the faith
One Spirit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, against which there is no law.
Thank you for the thought, and thank you for reminding me of the song. I learned Christian folk/contemporary music when I taught at a Catholic school (unusual for a protestant). Peter Scholten, Sebastian Temple, Ray Repp, and I’m sure there were others. Good music with the core message.
And the rest of Father Scholtes’ hymn that we sang when I was young (long ago)… And they’ll know we are Christians by our love, by our love; yes they’ll know we are Christians by our love!
