New Year’s Eve Progress Report

Our progress in just the last couple hours has been remarkable. We are almost halfway to our goal of $15,000.

Remember whatever time it is where you are, it is 10:45 p.m. here and that’s what counts. So you have a little over an hour to finish up.

A big thanks to everyone below who has contributed so far. Will you join them and help us make our goal in the next hour?

And stay tuned for the next installment of Dark Horse.

1 Response to New Year’s Eve Progress Report

  1. As most of us know, many resolutions made during the New Year are seldom accomplished by that years end. Amusingly, we repeat the process each subsequent year.

    The AARP suggests we “Scrap the Resolutions and Set New Year’s Intentions Instead”: https://www.aarp.org/home-family/friends-family/info-2020/new-years-intentions.html

    Whatever we attempt to accomplish in 2021 let us, with Scriptural scrutiny, consider this poem by Howard Arnold Walter. Then, whether we resolve to follow through or make it our intention, let us, at least, adopt his Creed to be our own:

    I Would Be True

    I would be true, for there are those who trust me;
    I would be pure, for there are those who care;
    I would be strong, for there is much to suffer;
    I would be brave, for there is much to dare.

    I would be friend of all–the foe, the friendless;
    I would be giving, and forget the gift;
    I would be humble, for I know my weakness;
    I would look up, and laugh, and love and lift.

    I would be faithful through each passing moment;
    I would be constantly in touch with God;
    I would be strong to follow where He leads me;
    I would have faith to keep the path Christ trod.

    ~ from “My Creed and Other Poems” by Howard Arnold Walter (1912)

    May we all find and embrace True Shalom, Peace through all of 2021.
    Happy New Year everyone!
    🙂
