Every morning

Today’s MemberPartner offering comes from Pam Lundy. This is such a privilege to hear from some of our MemberPartners. It is a chance to not only grow from hearing what they have learned from life to share with us, but it is a chance to get to know a little bit about who they are. We happen to believe that our MemberPartners are some of the best people on earth. And for that reason, you may want to consider becoming a one yourself. The camaraderie is strong. The bond is unbreakable.

I always notice an email from Pam because she has always had a quote from a Carol King song  as a tag line on the bottom of all her e-mails. “You’ve got to get up every morning with a smile on your face to show the world all the love in your heart.” What a great daily assignment. I love it when believers recognize truth from anywhere. This quote has been made especially true in Pam’s life in the last few weeks. As it was been tested as well. But I’ll let her tell us about it.

Two days after Christmas this year, much to my surprise, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I believe we are subject to an array of unfortunate situations in life, not because of poor choices or God wanting to teach us something or punish us, but because we live and breathe on this planet. I am old but healthy and not ready to check out. I do believe in the miraculous healing power of God and would have welcomed that experience. However, it was the profound peace I had after sharing my news with my friends of faith that I could handle whatever came with this that carried me through the series of tests, surgery, and plan of treatment decisions that continue. It was amazing, given my nature to be in control, and I am so grateful … every day.

Life humbles us. That Carol King quote must carry new meaning now for her, and in turn for us. But Pam is telling us that God’s sweet love keeps on coming, and the smile stays, regardless. It just all runs deeper.

“You’ve got to get up every morning with a smile on your face to show the world all the love in your heart.”

Thank you Pam for a heartwarming email. I need to remember that saying of getting up with a smile on your face to show the world all the love in your heart. I have mental problems with bad anxiety at times. I am on medication and get grief counseling. My Mom passed away last year at 88 yrs and eleven months. I had many issues I had buried over the years and trying to get out in counseling. Your message a great reminder of embracing God thru his Son Jesus and always hang onto with faith. Satan likes to cause trouble on earth and always have faith with God to fight him. Take care, God Bless, and thanks.
