Pray

I don’t think anyone would disagree with me if I said these were the last days. And I also think most people would agree that in the last days there will be increased activity coming from the devil and his minions. That makes it all the more important that we take seriously spiritual warfare and do whatever is necessary to prepare ourselves for it.

So let’s review what we’ve gone through concerning the amor of God in that regard. So far we have:

Belt of truth: check.

Body armor of God’s righteousness: check.

Shoes of the good news of peace: check.

Shield of faith: check.

Helmet of salvation: check.

Sword of the Spirit (the word of God): check.

Good. Equipped for battle? No. One more thing. The most important. Pray.

Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. And pray for me, too. Ask God to give me the right words so I can boldly explain God’s mysterious plan that the Good News is for Jews and Gentiles alike. Ephesians 6:18-19

Remember we are caught in the middle of a battle with unseen forces. This is no joke. That’s why we must be alert and pray constantly. We don’t know what’s going on except that SOMETHING IS ALWAYS GOING ON and we need to keep praying. And then he says, pray for “all believers everywhere.” Well now, doesn’t that seem a bit too general? Except that if millions of believers are praying for all believers everywhere, it’s going to sway the battle in our direction. We’re a part of this. Nothing is too general when it comes to the power of prayer. Pray for all believers everywhere!

By the way, that’s why our purpose is to develop disciples (you) so that we might make real the vision to introduce the gospel of welcome — grace turned outward — to everyone, everywhere. Too much? Too general? Not when we’re called to pray for all believers everywhere. Where’s your faith? How big is your vision? Do you want to bring the gospel to just a few people or to everyone, everywhere? Wake up, people. Your salvation is nearer than when you first believed. There’s not much time left.

And then Paul asked the Ephesian Christians to pray for him, personally, that God would give him the right words so he could boldly explain God’s mysterious plan.

We ask you to consider taking a cue from Paul’s request and pray that each of us develops a one-on-one relationships with someone within the younger generations  so that they, too, might be equipped with the armor of God in preparation for these last days.

I have said many times that I cannot imagine one day without the word of God and prayer. My Mom taught me about both. I remember learning to pray when I was a child and so glad that was a huge part of my life. Satan is doing all he can do to keep us from following our God thru his Son Jesus. Besides being ready with all mentioned above each day pray as much as we can because especially now more than ever so much is happening so fast and we need that prayer to God to keep our sanity. I know when I have days of bad anxiety due to mental health problems and just need to pray to God, be ready and always keep him close.
