You’ve heard the question many times: “If you died today would you go to heaven?”

What’s your answer? The answer is another question: “Do you believe in Jesus?” If the answer to the second question is “Yes,” then the answer to the first is the same. Jesus promised.

What if I told you that it was Jesus’ responsibility to see that you get home to heaven safely? That’s right. It’s not up to you; it’s up to Him. He promised His heavenly Father that He would not lose even one of us.

This is the best news we could ever receive in relation to eternal security. If you believe in Jesus, your place in heaven is a done deal. It’s all wrapped up in the will of God. Jesus clearly said He came to earth to do God’s will. And God’s will for Him involves you and me. Just listen to what He says that was written down for us in the book of John.

“For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do my own will. And this is the will of God, that I should not lose even one of all those He has given me, but that I should raise them up at the last day. For it is my Father’s will that all who see his Son and believe in Him should have eternal life. I will raise them up at the last day.” John 6:38-40

Think of that. It is the will of God for Jesus to bring you home. It is the will of God for Jesus to resurrect all who believe in Him on the last day. So the only issue is, do you believe in Jesus? And if you do, even the ability to do that came from God. Everything comes from God; nothing from us. Only believe, and that comes from following through on what God already put in your heart.
