Just outside my door

I didn’t even plant these. They just came up.

I went for a short walk this morning just a little ways outside my house. I breathed in the crisp fresh air. No coronavirus there. I felt the warm sun radiate on my face contrasting with the cold air all around me, making me feel like I was standing in front of a radiator 93 million miles away. No virus there. I noticed the trees growing into each other, and the early spring flowers bunched together trying to beat each other in reaching for the sun. No social distancing there. I took in the clouds, billowing white and gray far above everything, uninfected. Out there on my street, in just a few things I could see of God’s creation, everything’s okay.

I think it does some good for us all to put this pandemic into perspective. There are places where the virus cannot go. The creation is still putting forth the praises of God. No one and nothing can stop the mountains from singing and the trees of the field from clapping their hands. I think it is good to be reminded of this when there is so much uncertainty around us that can cause so much fear and anxiety especially if you focus on it.

So be encouraged. Take time for what you never have time for. Call up someone. Text someone.

Guess who has been texting us? Our four-year-old granddaughter, Jocelyn. Wait until you see what she’s doing with her mother’s phone. Here’s a brilliant piece of four-year-old art.

And here is a message from Joci to all of us. Pay attention now… I want you to catch every word.

She is most definitely a princess…

But at night she moonlights as something else…

So keep calm. Connect. Stay positive. Take a walk. And be sure not to miss our second Wednesday night International Video Conferencing Bible Study via Zoom. Tomorrow’s Catch will have all the information about how to get on. And no worries if you don’t want to be seen. Just turn your camera off and you’ll still be with us. Let’s fill up the screen this time with people we love.

I just finished Zooming with some of my students, and it was so good to see them! Hopefully we will appreciate each other more after this is all over.

Though our beaches have been closed down, we are fortunate that we live on the Indian River Lagoon – so there are still pelicans and dolphins, fishing to be done. People are still walking their dogs, as are we. We can visit at a safe distance in the warmth of south Florida spring. We walk through the neighborhood and visit from the end of the driveway, checking up on each other. We are blessed…now I just have to act like I know that! So what if I can’t find an extra roll of toilet paper! Unexpected ministry avenue…there is a book donation drop in the park – I have pulled a collection of books from my own library and left them the other day…all are gone…so His Word goes on. AMEN!

May I please suggest a great book for your husband to consider reading:
“Dr. Neal Barnard’s Program for Reversing Diabetes THE SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN SYSTEM for REVERSING DIABETES WITHOUT DRUGS”

It works! Plus to greatly help lower America’s number #1 killer – heart disease!

PS please noticed I wrote above “My one time favorite snack!” meant that to suggest they no -longer are b/c even a local Health Food store & the owner who is also type II so the chocolate part is…But I love life a bit more than my one favorite snack.. But TY 4 your kindness…

My one time favorite snack! Jus wish could find them sugar free. To help out w/ my type II diabetes

      • Sandie says:

Mark – while you can’t make raisins sugar-free, you might be able to make the chocolate part healthier. Maybe try a fresh market? My husband has Type 2 and I’m always going for the healthier version when I can – even found sugar-free chocolate chips for cookies. Be well.

  3. Not WHAT but HOW you want to be when you grow up.

Here’s Steve Hartman’s second lesson in Kindness 101.
    Today’s class is about: Empathy.
    School is now in session.

    Loved Joci’s art & message….

PS So I take it for tonight study it’s designed to be used w/ an smart phone & not so much a desk top without a camera or mic? My iPhone screen is way too small, but I’ll try it out… Need to get used to using it a lot more often anyway come the June when I start back up w/ my XS Energy Drink Biz through Amway – it’s about all ran on them…
