How to save the world

Excessive attachment to political parties agitates the community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms, kindles the animosity of one party against another, and opens the door to foreign influence and corruption. – George Washington

Where is George when we need him? We were much higher minded when we founded this country than we are now. We knew that freedom wasn’t just about our own personal rights. It was about our rights and everyone else’s. And that kind of freedom comes with responsibility not autonomy. There is a phrase used often in the Old Testament to explain what happened when the nation of Israel went off track. “And everyone did what was right in their own eyes.” That’s a sure fire way to bring a nation down.

How do you save the world? With a political party? With a powerful leader? With a nutritional supplement? With CBD? With a movie?

We’ve got to straighten this out. Everything got crooked. We’ve got to get back to what the Kingdom of God stands for. I have to again call attention to the Millennials; they’re getting this part right. They are the ones with the hope of righting this ship. One Millennial Christian was recently quoted in the New Yorker as saying, “We can’t be married to the agenda of the donkey or the elephant. We must be married to the party of the lamb.”

He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is dumb, so he did not open his mouth. (Isaiah 53:7)

Think of Jesus — quiet before His accusers — being mocked, spit on, whipped, insulted, and struggling to carry the very cross He would be nailed to up the long hill to Golgotha, and ask, “Is this the way to save the world?”

Yes. Yes. A hundred times, yes!

And as He carried His cross, so we carry ours.

    Many of us vote and most likely belong to a political party which is good to participate in our elections for our nation and community. But, we must never lose the belief that its all about Jesus and following him and always put that above all. He is always been the one to save the world one soul at a time and especially now more than ever we must never lose sight of that. Take care, God Bless, and have a great weekend.

    Big Amen Pastor John!

  3. I then shall live as one who’s learned compassion;
    I’ve been so loved that I’ll risk loving, too.

    I know how fear builds walls instead of bridges;
    I’ll dare to see another’s point of view.

    And when relationships demand commitment,
    Then I’ll be there to care and follow through…

    Your Kingdom come: around and through and in me,
    Your power and glory: let them shine through me.

    Your Hallowed Name, Oh Lord, may I bear with honor.
    And may Your Living Kingdom come in me…

    Amen, Amen, Amen.

      Very cool Video & song brother Bob, TY 4 posting it!

      • Thank you, Mark.

        This came to me as a response to John asking, “Is this the way to save the world?” and his follow-up reminder, “And as He carried His cross, so we carry ours.”

        As we carry our cross, then we shall live as those who have compassion.
        We’ve been so loved, that we’ll risk loving, too…

        Shalom, Peace my friend…
        🙂
